Over the years, other witnesses would come forward with accounts that appeared to place Amy alive after her disappearance—including reported sightings in Curaçao and Barbados and photographs that some believed showed Amy. None of these sightings has been conclusively verified, but together they have kept one haunting possibility alive: that Amy may have survived the morning she vanished.

Amy Bradley’s disappearance is a case built around people. Her family provided the first and most important timeline of her final hours. Passengers reported seeing her during the early morning hours. Crew members were among the first people notified that she was missing. And in the years that followed, strangers came forward claiming they had seen Amy alive in Curaçao and other Caribbean locations. Each account became another thread in a case where investigators had very little physical evidence to work with.
The Bradley Family
Parents & Brother • First Timeline & Immediate Searchers
Connection: Ron and Iva Bradley (parents) and Brad Bradley (brother).
Role in Investigation: Ron and Iva Bradley, along with Amy’s brother Brad, were not simply witnesses to the events surrounding her disappearance—they were the people who knew Amy best and were there during her final confirmed hours. Brad had spent time with Amy aboard the ship during the early morning hours before returning to their cabin. Their father, Ron, later reported seeing Amy on the balcony around 5:15–5:30 a.m. When he woke again and discovered that she was gone, the family immediately began trying to determine where she could have gone. Their recollections became an essential part of the early timeline. The family searched the ship, contacted crew members, and pushed for an announcement asking passengers to help locate Amy. For the Bradleys, this was not initially a mysterious disappearance—it was a terrifying possibility that Amy was somewhere on the ship and needed to be found. The family has continued searching for answers for more than two decades, and Amy remains officially missing.

Role in Investigation: The actions of the Rhapsody of the Seas crew have become part of the controversy surrounding the case. From the moment the family reported Amy missing, the ship's personnel were placed in the difficult position of responding to a disappearance while thousands of passengers were preparing to enter port. The Bradley family has criticized the ship's response, particularly the handling of the search and the timing of announcements to passengers. For the family, the concern was simple: Amy had disappeared, and every minute mattered. They wanted the ship treated as a contained environment and believed passengers should have been questioned before leaving the vessel. The eventual handling of the situation has fueled years of criticism and speculation about whether more could have been done during those crucial first hours. It is important, however, to distinguish the family's allegations and criticisms from what can be independently established about individual crew members. There is no basis for treating the entire ship's staff as responsible for Amy's disappearance simply because questions remain about the response.

Their accounts became particularly significant because they potentially placed Amy somewhere on the ship after she had returned to her cabin with her brother. One of the women reportedly saw Amy in the company of Alister “Yellow” Douglas, a musician performing aboard the ship. Their accounts helped establish Douglas as one of the most discussed people connected to Amy's final known movements. The importance of these witnesses isn't necessarily that they identified a perpetrator—it is that their recollections could help establish what Amy was doing, who she was with, and when she was last seen by someone other than her family. But decades later, reconstructing a timeline from memories of a few minutes in the early morning hours is extraordinarily difficult. What did each witness actually see? How certain were they that the woman they saw was Amy? And where do their accounts fit alongside the family's timeline? These questions make the witnesses just as important to examine as the people who have been labeled suspects over the years.
Alister “Yellow” Douglas

Role in Investigation: Alister “Yellow” Douglas is perhaps the name most frequently associated with suspicion surrounding Amy's disappearance. Douglas was a musician performing aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas, and witnesses reportedly placed him with Amy during the early morning hours before she vanished. That connection naturally attracted attention as investigators attempted to reconstruct Amy's final movements. But there is an important distinction between being a person of interest in public discussion and being established as responsible for a crime. Douglas has denied involvement, and there has never been a criminal charge against him in connection with Amy's disappearance. His presence in the timeline makes him someone worth examining in an investigation of the case—but not someone who should be declared responsible without evidence. The questions surrounding Douglas therefore remain tied to the same larger mystery: what exactly happened during the hours between Amy returning to her cabin and her family discovering she was gone?
The Curaçao & Caribbean Witnesses

Role in Investigation: Perhaps the most controversial witnesses came forward after Amy had already disappeared. Over the years, several people reported encounters with a woman they believed could have been Amy, including accounts of a woman seen in Curaçao. One of the most widely discussed reports came from a Canadian tourist who said she encountered a woman who resembled Amy and who appeared to be in distress. Another reported sighting involved a woman believed to be Amy at a beach or resort setting. These accounts became particularly significant because they offered a tantalizing possibility: what if Amy had not died aboard the ship? For her family, reported sightings were both hopeful and heartbreaking. Each one had to be investigated, compared against Amy's appearance and identifying characteristics, and weighed against the passage of time. Yet none of the reported sightings has conclusively established that Amy survived her disappearance. The FBI continues to seek information that could lead to her recovery.
The people connected to Amy's case do not all occupy the same place in the investigation. Her family represents the last confirmed connection to Amy. The passengers represent potential witnesses to her final movements. The crew represents the people responsible for responding once her disappearance was reported. Douglas became a controversial figure because of his reported interaction with Amy. And the later witnesses represent the possibility—never conclusively proven—that Amy may have been seen alive after leaving the ship.
Taken together, their stories create a complicated web of timelines, memories, sightings, and unanswered questions. Some accounts appear to support one theory while contradicting another. Some may represent genuine attempts to help. Others may simply reflect the difficulty of identifying someone from a brief encounter decades ago.
And that may be the most frustrating part of the Amy Bradley case: there are people who may have seen pieces of the answer, but no single witness has been able to put those pieces together.
